Welcome to My Garden

We may walk on different paths, but we follow the same footprints.

This year I'm focusing on improving my running and overall health by taking the 2017 Mile Challenge and seeing where the journey takes me. I'm also revisiting the Monthly Challenge started by Nephew Jason in 2009.

I'll try to post something every day. It may be a short inspirational quote or a longer narrative. Please join me......

"If you don't try, you won't know you can."

2017 miles Day 83

A message from Tony Garcia.  Originally posted on his G Force Facebook Page 3/23/17

Running Diary: My Victories
This may look like defeat.
But please know, my victories cannot often be seen. For they are found in the smallest of decisions. To simply try again. To simply rise to my feet. To simply believe I can do this once more.
My victories rarely able to be measured by human instruments. Times I've danced with my angels. Moments I've jumped despite not seeing the net. Instances of knowing goosebumps and breathlessness. Battles I've won over demons and fears others cannot imagine.
These, my personal victories. Seen by few, understood by few, celebrated by few. For they come without fanfare. Without arms raised high. Without much more than a whispered, "You can do this".
And should I stumble and fall short of the finish line, it does not mean I have been defeated. For in daring to bring myself to the start of the journey, I knew a victory.
And should I never attain the dreams I dream, it does not mean I have been defeated. For in daring to dream the impossible, I knew a victory.
This may look like defeat.
Do not be fooled. Today, I shall celebrate a victory. For I made the decision to try once more. ~G
